Decommission of Desktop Mobile ViTS (DMV) Service

Overview

Desktop Mobile ViTS (DMV) is an enhancement to the current NASA Video Teleconferencing Services (ViTS) managed by the NASA CSO.  DMV is powered by Vidyo and provides encrypted multiparty videoconferencing and content sharing across a wide range of devices including iPads, iPhones, Androids, Mac, Linux, PC platforms.  DMV users can seamlessly conference between their desktop computers, mobile devices, and NASA ViTS rooms from almost anywhere at any time.

Go Beyond the Cloud

DMV is not limited to the NASA cloud. Users with DMV host license can host encrypted meetings that include guest participants and participants outside of the NASA network firewalls. DMV is a great video collaboration solution for NASA’s decentralized working groups, tele-workers, and even NASA International partners.

Backwards Compatibility with NASA Standard ViTS

DMV is the only NASA I3P collaboration service that is fully backwards compatible with NASA’s ViTS rooms and videoconferencing bridges. ViTS room users can call DMV endpoints and DMV users can call ViTS endpoints. During calls, participants can share computer content or other multi-media resources between each other.

Service Operations

DMV services are available 24/7. However, if a problem occurs, contact the NASA Enterprise Services Desk (ESD) at 1-877-677-2123 or the NASA Teleconferencing Center (NTC) at 256-961-9387. The ESD is available 24/7, 365 days a year and NTC is available during normal business hours (6:00 am to 6:00 pm Eastern Time). The Help Desk Analysts or the NTC will provide assistance as needed.
